About Me
A Growing Story
A qualified Garden Designer, I studied at Bicton and RHS Rosemoor. I am a former Member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture., and the Garden Media Guild. I am currently a member of the Hardy Plant Society. My love of gardens stems back to my childhood in inner city Bristol. With only a yard to work with, and my parent's permission I planted grass seed and simply imagined what the space could be like - if it wasn't for my dad's tomatoes and runner beans! A lot has changed since then.
On moving to Devon over twenty - five years ago, I first designed a courtyard style garden, turning it from a concrete rectangle to a garden paradise retreat, using imaginative and easy to maintain planting suitable for a busy household. It was a real treat to move on to a large plot belonging to the wing of a Torquay Victorian Villa. Here architectural plants with a sense of the tropical - hinting at my Caribbean heritage - mix with well loved English Cottage Garden favourites. The space harked back to a bygone age, whilst showcasing exciting modern garden design interpretations. This inspirational garden oasis inspired the name of my garden design consultancy.
I now live in beautiful Buckfastleigh, where I am designing an exciting new garden with gorgeous views of the surrounding Devon hills. You can follow my progress on Instagram. I design gardens small and large in South Devon and beyond. Contact me to discuss how I can help you create your perfect patch of heaven. Online consultations are available too.
I am also a freelance garden design Writer & , and give virtual and in person talks and presentations to variety of groups and organisations, as well as running public and bespoke workshops.
I have been a BBC Gardeners' Question Time Contributor, have been featured in national newspapers and magazines, and hosted on an award winning RHS Chelsea garden.
