This is an opportunity for us to have a general discussion about your garden, and to give you an idea about what my design fees. This could be by telephone or video. We'll have a chat about your likes and dislikes, who will be using the garden, and what their needs are. This is then followed by a visit to your garden, subject to us being happy to work together
Detailed Consultation
Once you have chosen Oasis to design your garden for you, I'll ask you to fill in a questionnaire. We'll also have a very detailed meeting to discuss what you would like from your garden. This will include everything from the type of planting and colour scheme you like, whether you want easy to maintain planting, privacy, or pet / child friendly planting. If it's an existing garden, we'll talk about whether you want me to redesign the whole space or simply a border, what existing features you would like to keep, and even where the washing line will go if you have one!
Concept Plan
The detailed consultation is followed by a concept plan, informed by our discussions. The concept plan is a general drawing showing the style, content and general layout of your exciting new garden. Scale drawings and planting plans are not included at this point, but the concept will include a 'mood board' to give you a sense and feel of your fabulous new space. Alterations can be made at this stage.
Detailed Layout
An in depth Design Consultation, and Concept Plan, is followed by a full design layout for your garden. I'll draw up a plan of your space back at my studio, and produce a design for your consideration, based on information discussed with you. The plans will include itemised pricing so that you can adjust the design to suit your budget if necessary. The plan, together with scale drawings and planting plans, will be presented at your home.
Hard Landscaping
If your design includes hard landscaping, this stage will be done by reputable builders / garden landscapers. Fees for this stage are to be paid directly to the landscaper / builder by yourself. I am happy to supervise / project manage to ensure the design brief is adhered to for an additional fee
One Off Consultation
You may simply want a one off consultation to get general ideas, advice and direction about what to do with your outdoor space, without a full blown design. I'll send you a detailed questionnaire to fill in advance of my visit to your garden, and follow up our meeting with a general report. This will not include scale drawings or particular planting plans.
